Discussion

This spit was excavated to define the relationship between the east-west ditches 012AD07217 and 012AD00754, and the north-south aligned ditch 012AD07218. The material removed was generally a medium sandy loam (Munsell 10YR 4/3), although more patches of 10YR 4/4 were noted than in spit 012AD08000 above or the adjacent spit 012AD08129. Pottery finds were exclusively later Roman.
